1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Barakah Union, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform. We may update these terms from time to time, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information during registration and keep your profile information current. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use Barakah Union in good faith and in accordance with our Community Guidelines. You may not use the platform to engage in fraud, harassment, spam, or any illegal activity. You may not attempt to circumvent trust or governance mechanisms.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of content you post on the platform. By posting content, you grant Barakah Union a non-exclusive licence to display and distribute that content within the platform as needed for its functionality. You may not post content that infringes on the intellectual property rights of others.
5. Money Pools and Financial Activity
Barakah Union provides coordination tools for money pools but does not hold or transfer pooled funds directly. Pool members are responsible for their own financial arrangements. Contribution tracking, commitment records, and proof packets are coordination aids, not financial instruments.
5a. Supporter Contributions
Founding supporter contributions are one-time payments that support Barakah Union's development. They are not subscriptions, charitable donations, or investments, and do not confer ownership, equity, or financial return. Benefits are as described on the supporter page at the time of purchase. Supporter contributions do not influence trust scores, feed visibility, moderation standing, governance rights, or community reputation. Refunds are available within 30 days of purchase by contacting support@barakahunion.com.
6. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms or our Community Guidelines. You may delete your account at any time through your account settings. Upon termination, your data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7. Limitation of Liability
Barakah Union is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us, if any, in the 12 months preceding the claim.
