1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, profile information, posts, messages, and transaction data within money pools. We also collect usage data such as pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns to improve the platform experience.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and improve the platform, facilitate trusted connections between members, enable community features such as groups and money pools, and send notifications related to your account activity. We may also use aggregated, anonymised data to understand platform usage patterns.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your data. Information is shared only within your groups and communities as needed for platform functionality. Your trust score, pool contributions, and commitment history are visible only to relevant group members and pool participants. We may share data with service providers who help us operate the platform, subject to strict confidentiality agreements.
3a. Payment Information
For supporter contributions, payments are processed through Stripe. Barakah Union never receives or stores full card numbers, CVV, or bank account details. Stripe's own privacy policy governs payment data on their side. Barakah Union stores your email address, name (if provided), supporter tier, payment amount, Stripe session and payment identifiers, and payment status. This information is used to fulfil supporter benefits, send confirmations and updates, and maintain supporter recognition. It is not shared with third parties beyond Stripe for payment processing.
4. Data Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security reviews to protect your data. While no system is perfectly secure, we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.
5. Your Rights
You can access, update, or delete your account data at any time through your account settings. You may request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account entirely. We will respond to such requests within 30 days.
6. Analytics and Attribution
We use PostHog for privacy-first analytics. Our configuration is deliberately minimal: autocapture is disabled, session replay is disabled, heatmaps are disabled, and no form fields, keystrokes, or DOM content are captured. We respect the Do Not Track browser setting. Analytics data is stored in localStorage, not cookies.
We track page views and form interactions (start, submit, success) to understand how visitors use the site and where they arrive from. We capture marketing attribution parameters (UTM source, medium, campaign) when present in the URL. We do not capture email addresses, names, or other personally identifiable information in analytics events.
